You’ve likely not heard of Jordan Massarella – but trust us when we say you will soon! This young Nashwhite stylist impressed some true industry heavyweights to win the coveted Rising Star award at the 2018 It List Awards, hosted by our sister mag Creative HEAD.
With judges including legendary hairdressers Lee Stafford and James Galvin, top session stylists Johnnie Sapong and Neil Moodie, and fashion designer Harry Evans, it was a tough crowd to please. But Jordan Massarella’s vivid imagination and bold aesthetic caught their attention – his aptitude for creating a fashionable, unexpected twist saw him seize the prize. Considering he’s only been in hairdressing for two years, working at the gorgeous Nashwhite group, it’s a pretty remarkable feat!
With a background in classical dance, it’s no wonder he has the intense discipline needed to push himself to new heights. Colour is definitely his thing – his unexpected colour combos and precision earned him a coveted spot on the L’Oréal Colour ID Art Team. After a big win at the L’Oréal Colour Trophy last year for his fiery-tipped Afro Look winner, Jordan’s star has been rising higher and higher – and it was The It List that he had his eyes set on next.
“The It List gives people a goal, and it has given me a goal for the past two years – it’s amazing to win!”
