This hairdressers is made for social distancing! Mesart is Glasgow’s first super salon. This space offers a lifestyle-orientated antidote to the traditional salon, which guests can treat as a home away from home. We all miss our regular trips to the hairdressers, so while we wait for Glasgow salons to reopen, we share why you need to pay Mesart a visit in the future…

“We want our clients to be able to enjoy that small bit of time they get to themselves when they have their hair done,” explains Stuart Whitelaw, the founder of Mesart. “We don’t want them to feel like they have to travel to different locations for different services.”

Stuart realised just how was blessed he was to have Glasgow’s first super salon when it was time to re-open after the first lockdown. “We have an ample amount of space, and it allowed us to come back and open our entire service menu to our clients without restricting anything,” he explains.

Most Wanted Mesart?

This second Mesart location is shortlisted for Best New Salon at the 2020 Most Wanted Awards, and its no surprise. This ultra cool mix of concrete, exposed brick and bespoke artwork is eminently Instagrammable (remember, tag in @mesarthair). We love the painted scissors and hairdryer on the exterior! Adore an influencer colour result? Mesart is home to Redken Shades EQ, so you know any biscuit blonde shades will be on point. Just be sure to get that post-lockdown colour patch test first!

But it’s more than just hair, of course. “We’re bringing local brands into our space as pop-ups, offering nails and brows to go alongside all things hair. We have an amazing communal space for people to chill out during their visit and we have designed our mirrors on a pulley system, which allows us to take them away.”
