London Fashion Week S/S20 went bonkers for braids and buns. Start practising now…

There was a theme at London Fashion Week for the S/S20 season, and that was buns and braids. Yes, there were a few esoteric takes on hair (we’re looking at you Matty Bovan, with ponytails dipped in Farrow & Ball paint) but for the most part we saw pretty and practical looks to rock when the sun comes back out. Here are a few of our favourite looks…

Bora Aksu
At Bora Aksu, it was floral and fabulous, with skinny twin braids skimming shoulders, thanks to Tina Outen for L’Oréal Professionnel.Victoria Beckham
Victoria Beckham’s models rocked shiny and smooth hair pulled back into nape-sitting buns by Guido for Redken. All the better to show off those incredible sunglasses…

Mark Fast
It was high heaven at Mark Fast, where hair was scrapped back and plaits sat high on the crown, swaddled at the base with a little neon wrap – created by Maria Kovacs for TIGI. If Arianna wants to mix up her pony game, she should be looking at this…
Molly Goddard
This is a bun we can get behind – Luke Hersheson for L’Oréal Professionnel’s was the ultimate model off-duty #iwokeuplikethis look. It’s a pony that hasn’t been pulled through completely, unfinished yet still chic. Remember to pull out a few random pieces for full effect…
Emilia Wickstead
Emilia Wickstead is clearly hoping for a hot summer 2020, with sun-shielding hats atop the shiniest looped over pony buns by Benjamin Mueller for Aveda.

Erdem
Raid the ribbon box for the perfect finish to your plait, as seen at Erdem by Anthony Turner for L’Oréal Professionnel.

Richard Malone
And a little fun to finish – braids banded together to a mini pony end by twisted steel hoops at Richard Malone, by Richard Phillipart for BaByliss PRO.
