Jet-setting colour with no jets required

Missing those sunkissed, golden hour hair moments on a beach somewhere in the Med? We feel ya. Which is why we’re loving these Holiday Hair colour creations by celebrity colourist Seniz Alkan

We can picture it now – the white sands of the Dominican Republic. The tropical drinks poolside in Thailand. A carb-lover’s feast on cobblestones in Italy. Our holidays might not be happening this year, but our hair hasn’t got the message. We’re still craving that sun-kissed summer look – and we know who can sort us out.

Seniz Alkan is the colour director at Neville Hair & Beauty Salon in London, whose skills are called upon both internationally and by starlets of London. Her colour pod at Neville’s is your new plane seat to transport you to dreamy summer colour.

Seniz has just unveiled a Holiday Hair colour menu, literally bringing that holiday vibe to your hair. With her four top beach destination colours you can look like you’ve been on holiday with sun-kissed, glowing and healthy locks without worrying about air bridges and a 14 day quarantine. Seniz’s artistic approach to colour and her creative colour placement leaves your hair naturally dazzling in natural light.

Where are you jetting off to?

Capri Cioccolato picks up on idyllic Italy. Rich in colours and texture, with a fresh zesty feel that’s a nod to the citrus groves scattered along the coast line. Seniz manages to mix chocolate browns with fresh lemon in a canny mix of 1/3 highlight and 2/3 lowlight. The placement depends on the haircut and style and how the hair is worn on a day-to-day basis. We hear Lisa Snowden is a big fan!

Ibiza Golden Hour pays homage to the balmy golden rays towards the end of your beach day, as the tunes begin to kick in and a big night might be on the cards. Ibiza Golden Hour is a beautiful blended ombré with a heavenly honey base. The ombré is achieved by backcombing the hair, so that roots remain untouched for a low maintenance look.

Cote D’Azur Riviera Waves creates a movement of waves in the hair with her clever colour placement. Seniz darkens the roots to give more body to flat, limp hair and then the art is in her hand-painted dimensions into the lengths using hair, thumb and index finger. We hear Jacqueline Jossa has recently dipped her locks into the Riviera…

Corsican Rosa creates the softest pink with an undertone of butter yellow. Seniz goes to work on the lower base with bleach-in-foil mixed with Olaplex applied to mid-lengths and ends depending on the quality of your roots. This is followed by a root bleach and a deeply hydrating Olaplex treatment all over for added shine. The application on the mid-lengths and ends are applied in slices for even colour distribution.
