Looking for the perfect style for your wedding? Or just fancy having a nose at some of the most iconic big day hair ‘do’s? We grabbed Gina Conway, who has some very swanky salons in and around London, and loves a gorgeous bridal look, to talk us through some memorable styles from the celebrity world and the big screen and tell us how us mere mortals could make them work.

Kate Middleton
"With the entire world looking at her, keeping her look simple ensured that the images from the royal wedding will never date. Kate's trademark healthy, glossy curls are the perfect partner for her detailed lace dress - the perfect princess look if ever there was one."

"What else did we expect from the eternal style icon? Carrie's whole look suits her eclectic persona perfectly, but you need confidence to pull off a hair piece this dramatic. If you want a standout look for your big day, it's also important look at your face shape and hairline – Carrie's hair is pulled quite severely, which looks amazing on her, but if you’re worried about looking too harsh a few loose strands around your face will soften the finish."

"Sophie's curls are beautiful, especially when combined with her blonde-streaked colour and bare, sun-kissed complexion. It's the perfect Greek island bridal look, but if you find all of the accessories a little overwhelming, try sticking to just one element - a subtle scattering of flowers throughout the hair looks gorgeous, or try a delicate crown without the veil for a more subtle take on her wedding look."

"Grace Kelly's wedding to Prince Rainier III of Monaco truly was one of the most talked about during the '50s and her look remains one of the most iconic bridal looks ever. The headpiece is so intricate that a simple neat up-do was all that was required."

"I love Blake's easy relaxed style, and while we might never get to see what her actual wedding hair (or gown) looked like, I like to think she channeled a look like this one that she sported to a premiere in LA a few years ago. Being polished to perfection doesn't suit everyone and this unkempt fishtail plait definitely reflects those who are much more casual in their approach to beauty - it's perfect for the big day."

Daisy Buchanan (played by Carey Mulligan in The Great Gatsby)
"Most wedding hair inspiration is aimed at longer lengths so I really love this sleek style for short hair. It's also the perfect example of working your style around your accessories, rather than leaving them as an afterthought."

Kate Moss
"Kate really knows what works for her style-wise and her relaxed wedding waves suit her personality to a tee - anything more 'done' wouldn't have been her. Plus, being the rock 'n roll style icon that she is, she needed a bit of edge to offset the glamour of her beaded Galliano gown."

"Although this isn't technically a wedding look (and sorry, I know I'm mentioning Grace again), if you’re looking for vintage bridal perfection you’ve found it here. I absolutely adore this style – it's so classy and completely timeless, and works just as well with or without a veil."
